Current River Amateur Radio Club

Our History

The Current River Amateur Radio Club was organized in the summer of 2004 and has been very active since that time. We have increased our membership substantially, as well as providing classes for potential new operators and licensing several new operators. We have repeaters at Van Buren and Eminence, MO and conduct a weekly net on the Van Buren repeater.

Our Repeaters

We have 2 meter repeaters at Van Buren and Eminence..  The Van Buren repeater operates on 146.865 MHz, minus offset and a 100 Hz tone.  The Eminence repeater operates on 145.310l Mhz, minus offset and a 100 Hz tone.

Weekly Net

We hold a weekly net on the Van Buren repeater at 7:30 P.M. Each Friday evening.  It is an open net and everyone is invited to check in.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance amateur radio in South Central Missouri, introduce young people to amateur radio and provide emergency communications for our area when necessary.  Several of our members belong to one or more traffic nets and are equipped to handle emergency trafffic.

Education

We hold amateur radio classes when requested to help stimulate interest in amateur radio and prepare new people to pass their exams.

Testing

We offer testing at each of our regular club meetings and can arrange special times and places if necessary.
